Executive-Physicals
Evaluation &
Treatment
Screenings
Screening tests and diagnostic evaluations are
individualized for each patient.
Routine diagnostic screening
- Mammogram
- EKG ( electrocardiogram )
- DEXA bone density scan
- Colonoscopy
- Ultrasound of the abdomen, pelvis, prostate
- Pulmonary function testing (current or past smoker)
Technologically progressive diagnostics
- Electron-beam coronary CT scan - measures the amount of
atherosclerotic
plaque in the coronary arteries supplying the heart
- Doppler scan of the carotid arteries - detect narrowing
of the main arterial
pipelines to the brain
- Doppler flow peripheral vascular index testing - assess
blood flow to the
extremities
- Lung CT scan - screen for lung cancer or other chest
abnormalities. This
technology detects lung cancer in the earliest curable
stages.
- Whole body MRI (magnetic resonance imaging) - allows
visualization of the
interior of the body, the brain, liver, pancreas -
everything in 3D without
radiation
- Whole body MRA (magnetic resonance angiography) - a MRI
study of the
blood vessels looking at the health of all blood vessels,
including the
brain, carotid arteries supplying the brain, the aorta,
kidney arteries and
femoral arteries supplying the legs without needles or
probing
Laboratory
testing
Diagnostic laboratory and screening tests are
individualized for each patient.
Routine Laboratory tests
- Chemistry 24
- CBC
- Cholesterol profile ( total cholesterol, HDL, LDL,
triglycerides )
- Blood type
- Urinalysis
- Thyroid function tests ( TSH, free T4 )
- Thin-prep Pap (for women)
- Hemoccult
Further biochemical & hormonal profiles
- Upgraded cardiac risk panel ( homocysteine, hs-crp,
fibrinogen )
- Gender-specific hormone levels ( estrogen,
testosterone, DHEA,
prolactin, cortisol )
- Tumor markers ( PSA, CA-125, CEA, AFP )
- Blood iron and vitamin levels
STD testing (if requested)
- HIV antibody
- Herpes blood test
- Chlamydia
- Gonorrhea
- Syphilis
- Trichomoniasis
- Hepatitis B test
- Hepatitis C test
- HPV typing
At the
Executive-Physicals Institute, physicians examine and
monitor each patient through careful examination,
extensive blood analysis, and further diagnostic testing,
as needed. Patients receive a thorough examination of the
blood to measure the concentrations of key hormones and
other chemicals in the body. Depending upon the age and
medical condition of each patient, referrals are provided
for tests such as ECG & exercise tolerance tests,
prostate, testicular and pelvic ultrasound tests,
colonoscopies, mammograms, bone density testing, and
others. If deficiencies or imbalances of hormones are
discovered, then medications or hormone treatments can be
initiated. Blood measurements are repeated frequently to
help ensure that the hormones stay in optimum balance.
Concurrently, patients are counselled about making
choices in their diet and lifestyle which may help
optimize their health, well-being, and longevity.
The field
of Executive-Physicals is very complex and rapidly
evolving as new discoveries are made and research is
conducted. Especially in the areas of nutritional
supplements, vitamins, minerals, and herbs, many
differences of opinion exist, with different researchers
and clinicians advocating different combinations of
supplements and nutrients. As scientists, we are not yet
fully convinced of the superiority of any one particular
combination of nutrients, supplements and vitamins. We
therefore do not dvocate or prescribe any fixed
regimen of these compounds to our patients. Many
variables exist, which we believe cannot yet be
adequately controlled and tested for. Thus, we offer
general nutritional guidelines to our patients, and let
our patients make their own particular dietary choices.
We concentrate on the medical, measureable hormone
treatments that we can accurately a
monitor with current technology.
In general terms, good health, longevity, and ultimately,
happiness, rest on a foundation of the following:
Nutrition:
Carefully chosen fresh, unpreserved foods, along
with the judicious use o:
multi-vitamins and minerals to ensure that all
nutritional needs are being met, especi
needs usually increase with age.
Lifestyle: Our
health is mostly determined by the lifestyle we
lead. We make choice
consciously or subconsciously, in the manner in
which we live. The majority of heal
choices are simply common sense. For example, the
importance of not smoking, drii
alcohol only in moderation, avoiding narcotics,
exercising regularly, avoiding stress
situations, eating fresh fruits & vegetables
as part of a balanced diet, drinking clean ]
and avoiding radiation, heavy metals, pollution
etc. is obvious to most of us, but rela
people live their lives by these simple
principles.
Body Chemistry /
Hormone Maintenance: The carefully supervised use
of hormones
precursors to ensure that important body
chemicals remain at appropriate levels may
improved mental and physical capabilities.
Genetics: While
our genetic makeup is pre-determined, lifestyle,
nutrition, and othe
controlled by us can radically affect the way our
genes are expressed.
